It’s Not About an Algorithm

The CWC Notes Boost isn’t about algorithms. It’s about growing community and connection with other creatives who love Christ in the Substack space.

The Boost helps writers gain visibility and engagement on Notes, which translates to sharing your message with more subscribers. Let’s support each other by liking, restacking, and commenting on each other’s Notes this weekend!

This week, our Boost begins on May 2, 2025 at 7 AM MT-May 4, 2025 at 11:59 PM MT.

Nuts and Bolts

1️⃣ Drop a Note in the comments using the following format.

THEME/SUBJECT (i.e. MENTAL HEALTH/LONELINESS)

Below the first line, include the text of your note along with its link. This streamlines the process.

2️⃣ Choose at least 5 other Notes in the thread that appeal to you. Follow that link to restack, like, and leave a meaningful comment. Let the writer know you’ve shared, liked, and/or restacked in the thread.

Key Considerations

• Engagement is Key

  Substack Notes Boosts are about genuine engagement, not passively liking and restacking without reading the content.

• Focus on Notes, Not Posts

  Restacks of posts (which are more akin to newsletters) don't yield as much engagement as interacting with Notes.

• Visit a Couple of Times

  Check into the thread on a different day or later during the Boost to support other writers and connect with content that appeals to you.

• Avoid Sales

  Avoid using Notes Boosts to promote courses, products, or other sales pitches. This is less likely to be successful on Substack (at least right now.)

• Revise old Notes to get engagement—don’t waste time writing new Notes every time without following my prompts.

• You can repost Notes that have been in the Boost before.

IMPORTANT: Return to the thread to let people know you’ve liked, restacked, and/or commented. (BTW-Substack weighs comments as most valuable.) You can abbreviate with L/C/R.
